Scott's new toy !

Scott traded his car today, and he came home with this. LOL ! The BMW was nice, but it was pretty high maintenance on the checkbook !

Dressing change time

Scott had to change his dressing twice a day for a little over a month after his ileostomy reversal. As soon as his wound healed, he started the last phase of his treatment; 5 rounds of chemo over 10 weeks.
Taking the gauze packing out.

Gauze is all out.

Repacking the wound.

Putting the finishing touched on the packing.

Surgery #2 Ileostomy reversal

All done.

I took this picture right after I filed all the thick dead nails off the top. If Scott did not keep his nails trimmed back and filed they would snag on everything pulling the nails kind of like ancient Chinese torture !
Thumb nail.

Chemo

Scott did not lose all his hair, but he did lose all his nails : (

What a fun evening with some of the funniest friends !

Portofino

One of the 5 Portofino Towers. All five towers are identical. The complex is located at the far end of the Pensacola peninsula, bordering the national sea shore. The beach was absolutely pristine and beautiful. Virtually no commercialism.
Our beautiful apartment !
Look we have the beach to ourselves !

McGuire's Irish Pub

Probably one of the coolest restaurants we have ever eaten at!
McGuire's Irish Pub first opened in 1977 as a small neighborhood pub in a shopping center. McGuire cooked and tended bar and Molly waited tables and greeted customers. When Molly made her first tip -one dollar- she tacked it to the back bar for good luck. Friends of the pub added to the collection and it soon became tradition. Today you will see over $500,000 one dollar bills hanging from the ceiling throughout the Pub, all of which have been signed by Irishmen of all nationalities, and in keeping with tradition, all McGuire's newly hired staff also place their first dollar tip. Molly would be proud !
Money, Money, Money EVERYWHERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(click on the picture to enlarge it to its original size, you can see the money better that way)
More and more money !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Scott’s brother, Jerome, lives in Mobile, Al., but works in Pensacola, FL. He recommended that we eat at one of his favorite restaurants, McGuire's Irish Pub. We know why now! The food was and atmosphere was EXCELLENT!
