Joel recently participated in a pre-season football kicking competition, at Stars Mill High School. He has never kicked before, and performed very well winning, The Best Place Kicker Contest, winning it with a 40 yard field goal, and The Best Kickoff Contest, for his age group with a 63 yard kick off. Coach Rafter announced that Joel's 63 yard kick off was a record for the Rafter Pro Training Company for a freshman kicker.
For those of you into stats here is a link to the tournament stats: www.rafterprotraining.com/17.html . I think the coach mentioned Joel was the only double winner of the competition. I wish Scott could have gone to cheer Joel on. He has been saying Joel had a a foot on him for quite a while now.
